Baptist Church
Worship Team & Friends
|
Tim Stutts
has served as senior pastor of Front Street
Baptist Church in Statesville, NC for three
years. He served as youth pastor of the
church for six years prior. Tim is passionate
for God’s Word, preaching and worship. His love
for music began at age 11 when he began playing
trumpet in the school band; he played in the
concert band, marching band and jazz band.
His passion for worship began as a teenager when
traveling around leading worship and doing
concerts in local churches. Tim received
his Associate degree in Religion from Fruitland
Baptist Bible Institute in 1994, a B.S. degree
from Gardner Webb University in 1997, and a
Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist
Theological Seminary in 2004. Tim and his wife,
Dionne have two children, Jaden (6) and Caleb
(4). Tim will share sermons and
inspirational times during our time in Asia.
Doris
Swaim
has extensive experience in church music, having
served as church organist for 15 years in
Maryland, then serving as pianist of Front
Street Baptist Church in Statesville, North
Carolina for almost 26 years. Doris received her
Bachelor of Music Education and her Master of
Music degrees from Appalachian State University
in Boone, North Carolina. In addition to her
church music responsibilities, Doris has taught
music in colleges for 15 years and has served as
a music teacher for more than thirteen years in
elementary and secondary schools. Doris
frequently accompanies community concerts and
plays for weddings. Doris and
her husband, Steve, have two grown sons, Eric and
David. The couple resides in Statesville.
Doris is our pianist.
Charles
Kincaid
has always had a deep rooted passion for drums,
although he did not cultivate that passion until
joining Front Street Baptist Church eight years
ago. Charles, who has no formal training in
music, has a God-given musical gift of playing
by ear. He only has to hear a song once or twice
to be able to play the song with a high level of
skill. Seminars, worship conferences, and
classes have all helped Charles to understand
that this spiritual gift is not for self gain,
"performance" ability, or even the congregation,
but for coming and leading others into God's
presence for an Audience of One. Charles and
his wife, Lynn, have two children, Whitney, 17,
and Josh, 14. They reside in Statesville, North
Carolina. Charles is our drummer.
Kevin

Choir. Kevin also played first chair trumpet in
the Watauga Community Band and served as the
band's conductor for the summer concert series.
He received his Bachelor of Music degree from
East Carolina University in Greenville, North
Carolina. While at ECU, Kevin was a three-year
trumpet soloist and section leader for the ECU
Marching Pirates. He also participated in
concert band, symphonic band, wind ensemble,

his church when their music minister was away.

Bible Institute where he received a degree in
religion/church ministry. While at Fruitland, he
started singing and traveling with a quartet
called “Lighthouse”. They sang together from
1993 to 1996. He continued to be involved in the
music ministry with other groups and as a

Ministry on September 19, 2007 and is now in
full time ministry as the Worship Pastor for
Grace Fellowship at the Lake. He is married to
Vicki Hudson and they have two kids, Abby and

Terrie Ross
believes that God instilled a love of music and
drama in her from day one. From the time she was
a little girl she has sung in church. She also
took many years of piano lessons. In high
school, Terrie was involved in chorus, drama,
and a member of a small competitive group called
“The Fordsters.” She also used her singing and
dramatic talents in several musical dramas. For
over 25 years, Terrie has been an active member
in the church choir at Front Street. Over the
years, God has used her to lead in worship
through small ensemble groups, solos, and dramas
including the “Statesville Easter Pageant.”

“Hearts in Harmony” for over 20 years. As a
member of this trio she has been able to share
God’s message through song at many weddings,
funerals, and various churches. She lives in
Statesville, NC with her husband Marshall.
Together they are proud parents to their
daughter Stacey and son-in-law Jerry
Helmandollar. Most importantly, they are very
proud grandparents (Nanny and Pop) to Josh, age
6, and Emma, age 4. Terrie is a vocalist
on our team.

years. A member of Front Street Baptist church
all of his life, he was called by God into music
ministry when he was 13 years old. He is
becoming involved in the Missions Team and
Instrumental Worship at Front Street Baptist
Church. He is also active in his youth group
doing skits, dramas, and dowel rod performances,
along with other youth group activities. Kaleb plays alto sax on our team.
Diane McLelland
has loved being involved in music for many
years. When she was a child, her piano teacher
was also her choir director. Out of necessity,
the teacher taught Diane the hymns at her lesson
so she could play them for church on Sunday.
That developed into over twenty years of playing
for that church, and continues today at Front
Street Baptist Church. Diane plays the strings
keyboard and substitutes when necessary at the
piano. She has also taught youth and children's
choirs and youth handbells at Front Street.
Diane and her husband, Dale, have two daughters,
Melissa 26 and Lauren, 22, one son, Jonathan,
19, and one granddaughter, Lily, 1. The couple
resides in Statesville. Diane plays
keyboard on our team.
Dale
McLelland
has been involved in the study of God's Word
all of his life. He has taught Bible Study and
Sunday School at Front Street for twenty years
and even before that at the church he grew up
in. Dale loves the written Word of God and
enjoys studying it. Dale and his wife, Diane,
have two daughters, Melissa, 26, Lauren, 22, and
one son, Jonathan, 19, and a granddaughter,
Lily, 1. The couple resides in Statesville,
North Carolina. Dale is our support guy
and small group Bible study leader. Dale
will join our team in progress on 25 July.
Lana Smith's
love for music has been evident since she was a
little girl. She grew up singing in church, and
felt called into music ministry when she was a
senior at Gardner-Webb University. In college,
Lana sang at many campus functions and traveled
on the weekends and during the summer doing
worship and evangelism outreaches. Lana is a
member of the choir at Front Street Baptist
Church and fills in as Worship Leader when
needed. Lana is devoted to sharing the gospel of
Jesus Christ through word and song. Lana has
sung for revivals, concerts, evangelism,
women's, pastor's, and mission conferences
throughout the country and abroad. She has three
recording projects to her credit and gives all
the praise to God for the opportunities He gives
her to minister. Lana has a Bachelor’s degree in
Administrative Management from Gardner-Webb
University and a Master’s degree in
Organizational Management from Pfeiffer
University, and works full-time as a Human
Resources Director. Lana and her husband Wesley
live in Statesville, and they are the proud
parents of two children, Savannah, age 4 and
Josiah, age 1. Lana is a soloist on our
team and will be with us 18-25 July.
Nathan Bost
is currently a Junior at Appalachian State
University in Boone, NC. He is a Management
Major and intends to pursue a Minor in
Psychology. He has been a member of Front Street
Baptist Church since first grade. Over the past
six years Nathan has been learning to shoot and
edit video. He has been pursuing opportunities
to serve Christ with video and is looking
forward to this opportunity to use his skill to
serve Christ. He hopes that through the use of
video, God will minister to many people. Nathan
does not know for sure what the future holds,
but he is trusting in Christ and seeking His
will in that. Nathan is our tech guy
and videographer.
Jacob Bradley
is a rising junior at West Iredell
High School. Jacob began playing the trombone in
middle school but his desire was to be a
percussionist. After several months of “bugging”
his band director, he finally was given the
opportunity on the drum line, and has been there
ever since. Jacob plays in the high school
marching band, jazz band, and concert band. He
recently became active in Front Street’s
Instrumental Worship. Jacob has questioned how
God could use his gift of music, specifically
that of a percussionist to further God’s
kingdom, and he believes being a part of the
church’s worship team and mission team is a step
in seeking God’s will for his life. Jacob
plays percussion of all sorts, most recently in
bamboo. Jacob is our groups percussionist.
